About Us
Welcome, thank you for being here!
My name is Danielle and I am the owner and Lead Instructor at SnoSwim School. I am a lifelong swimmer who believes swimming is a basic life skill, especially when we live in a place with so many water sports opportunities.
I am originally from Colorado and was introduced to the water when I was only 6 weeks old! Once I turned 5, I joined the local swim club where I swam until I was 10. I continued swimming once I entered high school. I had many wonderful coaches and even went to work for my swim club after aging out. My very first coach became my boss. Thirteen years after leaving her group, she recognized me instantly when I arrived for my first day of work.
Since that first day, I have taught countless children water safety and comfort as well as advanced stroke work to all ages. One of my swimmers who scratched me to pieces on her first day still holds an 8 & Under record in Colorado from 2014! I have worked for swim schools and swim teams, always focusing on beginners and those who have struggled with other programs and instructors. I specialize in young children and infants as well as swimmers who are afraid of the water. I never give up on any of my clients.
I have a Master's degree in special education and worked in education for 10 years. This experience give me even more tools to reach those who struggle to learn or are looking to overcome a fear.
I swim in Lake Stevens year round. Keep an eye out for me and the Lake Stevens Open Water Swimmers! This is a photo of me and my German shepherd, Yammie on Halloween 2021. She was my frequent companion in the lake.
I will have a new swimming companion in the summer of 2024!
